IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi to Undertake Master’s Courses from January 2024

IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus is all set to inaugurate Master’s courses from January 2024. This information was revealed by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan during his recent three-day visit to the UAE. Our Hon’ble Union Education Minister was out for the MoU signing between UAE and India. 

The first Master’s program at IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi will focus on energy transition and sustainability. This would majorly focus on how energy transition and sustainability is a mutual area of knowledge globally. This is a major area of awareness between India and the UAE. 

Therefore, this initiative is an important step towards India’s vision of globalized education. 

IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Master’s Program

IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus will have advanced research centers, especially for sustainable energy and climate studies. The detailed admission procedures are yet to be released. IIT Delhi has mentioned that the JJE advanced score is not a mandatory requirement for admission. Students may have to appear in a separate admission test for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi. This would be an exclusive exam for the master’s degree.

During our Union minister’s visit, he mentioned the importance of collaboration. He also disclosed that the interim campus in Abu Dhabi will house advanced research centers. These centers are dedicated to sustainable energy and climate studies. This development is the result of recent global challenges faced by the world. He stated, ‘It is a testament to the common vision and priorities of the leadership of both our countries.’

The MoU signed by ADEK and the Indian government’s Ministry of Education in July 2023. That was the start of the Master’s program. This MoU is the foundation of IIT Delhi’s international campus in Abu Dhabi. It remarks a noteworthy step of India towards global collaboration.

During his meeting, he also mentioned that Abu Dhabi is a global economic hotspot. Whereas India is a global talent hotspot, therefore both sides would work together incredibly. He also mentioned that India will soon open the CBSE office as well outside India in UAE.

Sustainable Energy and Climate Studies

This is an important management aspect in today’s world. These topics would enable students to develop a successful career in renewable energy. This will not only help India or UAE but also encourage the students globally about these subjects.

With the successful signing of the MoU between India and UAE, we think that this is one of the biggest initiatives of the year.
