iHub Anubhuti and Medanta Institute of Education and Research Sign MoU to Advance Medical and Healthcare Innovation

New Delhi – iHub Anubhuti-IIITD Foundation, a leading Technology Innovation Hub (TiH) specializing in Cognitive Computing and Social Sensing, and Medanta Institute of Education and Research (MIER), a not-for-profit entity dedicated to healthcare research at Medanta (Global Health Limited), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in medical and healthcare innovation.

The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Vinay Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, iHub Anubhuti, and Dr. Shoibal Mukherjee, Director, Medical Research, Medanta, in the presence of other dignitaries from TiH, MIER, and IIIT-Delhi, signifying the commitment of both organizations to work towards advancing healthcare technologies and fostering impactful research collaborations. The MoU formalizes the organisations’ shared vision of collaborative growth through joint research initiatives, knowledge sharing, and skill development to unlock opportunities at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Key objectives of the partnership include:

· Promote joint research activities and projects involving faculty members, scientists, and clinicians.

· Share knowledge and advice to plan and execute programmes promoting excellence in respective areas of research and education.

· Both organizations will promote academic exchange through guest lectures and programmes, encouraging faculty members, scientists, and clinicians to share their expertise across institutions

· Enable students and research staff to participate in academic events at both institutions, including lectures, seminars, workshops, and conferences.

· Provide shared access to library resources and research materials for all members of both institutions.

· Allow students, clinicians, and staff to visit the partner institution for short research stays with faculty approval.

Talking about the collaboration, Prof. Ranjan Bose, Chairman, iHub Anubhuti and Director IIIT-Delhi, said, “Combining iHub’s expertise in cognitive computing with Medanta’s leadership in medical research, the collaboration will focus on joint research, knowledge exchange, and skill development. This partnership lays the foundation for impactful advancements in healthcare, promising a future of transformative on-ground solutions and cutting-edge translational research.”

Dr. Shoibal Mukherjee, Director, Medical Research, Medanta, echoed this sentiment, stating, “In the age of advanced digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and robotics, medical science can only progress if there is close collaboration between medical and computational scientists. This partnership will seek implementable solutions to medical problems in both hospital and community settings.”

Mr. Vinay Mehta, CEO of iHub Anubhuti said that this MoU brings two leading and committed organizations to work together for the betterment of the country’s healthcare ecosystem. “Our efforts will not only lead to the development of new indigenous technologies, but also measurably improve patient care, and give a fillip to the healthcare industry in general,” he said.

 

iHub Anubhuti, established under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has been at the forefront of cutting-edge research in cognitive computing and health technology. The foundation plays a pivotal role in building translational research ecosystems, including establishing the Medical Cobotics Centre (MCC).
