HPAS prelims: HPPSC postpones exam to August 20 amid damage caused by torrential rain in Himachal

As per the latest update, The HP Administrative Service Competitive-preliminary Test 2023 has been postponed. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) decided to reschedule the test after Himachal Pradesh has been most severely affected by the recent rainfall.
The HPPSC HPAS-prelims test 2023 was supposed to take place on July 23, but it has been moved to August 20.
The HP education department has ordered all government schools to close until July 15 due to the weather conditions and damage brought on by the monsoon rains.
According to the official announcement, “The Commission has decided to reschedule the aforementioned examination due to widespread damage to the roads brought on by the unexpected rainfall and in light of severe weather. For the benefit of everyone involved, it is now announced that the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2023 will henceforth take place on August 20, 2023.”
The HPAS exam is held for filling an array of positions in the many government organizations in Himachal Pradesh. The Department of Food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs will fill open positions in the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS), as well as tehsildar, block development officer, and treasury officer, Himachal Pradesh Police Service, district controller, class-I (Gazetted), and other positions.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state’s chief minister, promised all impacted households Rs 1 lakh. According to the PTI, flooding and landslides that blocked almost 1,300 roads and severely damaged 40 key bridges resulted in the deaths of 31 people in just three days.
