Former President Ram Nath Kovind Inaugurates MATES Silver Jubilee Voyage as Institution Marks 25 Years of Excellence


India’s 14th Former President Ram Nath Kovind Inaugurated the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES), New Delhi Silver Jubilee Voyage, as the Institution marked its 25 years of Excellence in Education. Congratulating on the MATE’s successful journey, the Former President mentioned, “Maharaja Agrasen, an epitome of benevolence, has left an indelible mark through centuries with his unwavering commitment to social welfare. His legacy continues to inspire the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES), which champions the causes of education, transforming lives and futures.”
He cited the methods employed by Maharaja Agrasen, wherein his subjects were encouraged to contribute a brick and Sikka’ to every traveler arriving in the realm with the intention to stay. This served as a motivation for the populace to contribute towards the fundamental necessities of life: food, Clothing, and Shelter.’
Continuing his speech, he went on to say, “MATES’ philanthropic initiatives uplift communities, reflecting the noble spirit of its legendary namesake.”
Appreciating the contribution of the MATES, Former President Ram Nath Kovind welcomed the new batch of students in the institutions.
Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, the founding chairman of MATES and the honorable chancellor of Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU), Himachal Pradesh, informed the audience at the celebration’s opening event that MATES and all of its institutions—MAU, MAIT, MAIMS, and MABS—had planned yearlong celebrations to mark the achievement of 25 years.
As per the MATES releases, it reports, over 21623 students have graduated from institutions in the past 24 years.
On the occasion, the Chairman of MMates, Dr. Garg stated, “It is their dedication and hard work that each of the institutions has been given national ranking under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, and national accreditation by National Board of Accreditation.”
Dr. S.S. Deswal, Dean MAIT said, “MATES has always believed in rewarding meritorious students, on the silver jubilee celebrations, 100+ laptops were distributed to Students who topped in their exams and all the students of MABS of its pioneer batch. This was an initiative towards motivating the bright students to keep working hard.”
