Qualification Details
- For Group C (Level-2, GP ₹1900/-):
- 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Not required for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen and higher qualification holders like Graduates/Postgraduates).
- OR Matriculation with ITI for technical categories.
- For Group D (Level-1, GP ₹1800/-):
- 10th pass or ITI or equivalent.
- OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT.
Age Limit Details
- Group C (Level-2): 18 to 30 years (as of 01.07.2025)
- Group D (Level-1): 18 to 33 years (as of 01.07.2025)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to service rendered + 3 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): UR-10 years, OBC-13 years, SC/ST-15 years
- Other relaxations as per notification.
Salary Details
- Group C (Level-2, GP ₹1900/-): Pay as per 7th CPC.
- Group D (Level-1, GP ₹1800/-): Pay as per 7th CPC.

Selection Procedure
- Written Test (60 Marks):
- 40 objective questions (40 marks) & 1 essay-type question (20 marks) related to Scouts & Guides and General Knowledge.
- Negative marking: 1/3rd for each wrong answer.
- Marks on Certificates (40 Marks):
- Participation in National/State/District events and special courses.
- Document Verification:
- Shortlisted candidates (5 times the vacancies) will be called for verification.
- Medical Examination:
- Final selection is subject to medical fitness.
Application Fee & Payment Mode
- General/OBC Candidates: ₹500/- (Refund of ₹400/- for those who appear in the exam).
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWD/Women/Minorities/EBC: ₹250/- (Refund if they appear in the exam).
- Payment Mode: Demand Draft/Pay Order from any Nationalized Bank or Indian Postal Order in favor of “Principal Financial Adviser, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar.”
