Due to the increasing water levels of the Yamuna River, schools in Noida will remain closed on July 14th.

In response to the rising water level of the Yamuna River and the potential for further rainfall, the Noida district administration has issued a directive for all schools up to Class 12 to remain closed on July 14th. The official order, in accordance with the instructions from the District Magistrate, states that due to heavy rains and the increasing water level of the Yamuna river, it is necessary to take precautionary measures. Therefore, all schools, regardless of the educational board they are affiliated with, will be closed on the specified date. The decision has been made to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff members in light of the current weather conditions.

Due to the persistent heavy rains and subsequent waterlogging in Delhi, the Noida district administration has extended the closure of schools till July 14th. This decision comes after the earlier closure of schools on July 10th due to similar weather conditions. The current situation in the national capital is concerning, with the Yamuna River reaching a record-breaking level of 207.71 meters, surpassing the previous record set in 1978. This has led to flooding in various riverside areas.

In response to the flood-like situation and waterlogging in low-lying areas, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal assessed the circumstances and implemented several measures. The Yamuna Bank metro station was closed, and non-essential government offices, schools, and colleges were ordered to remain shut until Sunday. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi also reported that ten schools in the Civil Lines zone and seven schools in Shahadra, both located in low-lying areas, would be closed due to the flood-like situation.

Furthermore, taking into account the safety of students, the Punjab government has extended the holiday in schools until July 16th. This step is aimed at ensuring the well-being of students and to avoid any potential risks associated with the ongoing adverse weather conditions. The administrations are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary actions to minimize the impact and ensure the safety of the public, particularly the student community.
