Diploma Engineering Students Gain Practical Insights During Industrial Visit to NSIC


Aligarh : The IV Semester Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) students of University Polytechnic, AMU, visited the National Small Scale Industry Corporation Ltd. (NSIC), Aligarh, as part of their industrial exposure and practical learning initiative. The visit provided students with valuable insights into small-scale industrial operations, manufacturing processes, and entrepreneurship development.
Prof. Arshad Umar, Principal, University Polytechnic, emphasised the significance of industrial visits in enhancing students’ practical understanding of engineering concepts. Dr. M. Asif Hasan, Section-in-Charge, Mechanical Engineering Section, highlighted the importance of hands-on experience in strengthening theoretical learning.
During the visit, students observed manufacturing techniques and machinery used in small-scale industries; understood the operational and managerial aspects of small enterprises Learned about government support schemes and skill development programs offered by NSIC.
An interactive session with NSIC officials enabled students to clarify doubts, discuss industry trends, and explore career opportunities in the manufacturing and MSME sectors.
Guided by Dr. Mohd. Yunus Khan, along with Dr. Mirza Shariq Beg and Dr. Ahmad Saood, the visit enhanced students’ learning by integrating theory with practice and encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship
