Delhi University Teachers collaborate with a nonprofit think organisation in the US

On Tuesday, the government-run Delhi Teachers’ University (DTU) and a nonprofit public policy think organisation in the US inked a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further the professional growth of teachers.
According to Education Minister Atishi, the Delhi government wants to provide teachers with the most recent research findings and the essential abilities.
The education department released a statement stating that the relationship between Delhi Teachers University and the RAND Corporation “aims to facilitate support for strategic issues, improve teaching and research skills, and engage in joint scholarly discourse on key public policy matters.” According to RAND Corporation, one of the top three think tanks for education in the world.
The umbrella MoU represents a “first-of-its-kind collaboration” that aims to make use of RAND’s expertise in conducting rigorous, high-quality research and DTU’s infrastructure to support teacher training and capacity building for teachers as well as future research activities to comprehend the state of teachers and the teaching profession in Delhi, the education department noted.”
“This collaboration represents a significant advancement in our mission to improve Delhi’s educational environment. The school system in Delhi will surely be transformed as a result of this strategic cooperation, according to Atishi, who was present at the MoU signing ceremony.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has a goal of making Delhi’s government-run educational institutions the greatest in not only India but also the entire world, according to the Minister of Education. “When it comes to our Delhi government schools, we have clearly made great strides during the last 7-8 years.
But in addition to having the best schools, we also hope to build top-notch institutions of further learning, Atishi said. According to her, the signing of this MoU marks a hopeful turning point for Delhi’s educational landscape as both institutions are dedicated to fostering good change and advancing the creation of efficient educational policies and practises.
According to Dr. Rafiq Dossani, Senior Economist and Director of the Centre for Asia Pacific Policy at the RAND Corporation, the partnership between Delhi Teachers University and the nonprofit think tank “promises to foster a forward-looking educational ecosystem in Delhi, nurturing skilled educators equipped to shape the future of the nation.”
According to the MoU, this collaboration is not legal or financially motivated, the ministry said. The MoU also plans on conducting cooperative scholarly debates on important public policy issues and on developing teaching and research skills through training. In the presence of the Education Minister, Dhananjay Joshi, Vice Chancellor of DTU, and Dossani signed the MoU.
