The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2024 online registration procedure has begun at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). The prominent university has made it known that those who want to enter the field of design can now register for the entrance exam on the university’s official website, ceed.iitb.ac.in.

In CEED 2024, what is NEW?

The CEED 2024 exam’s syllabus has been updated by IIT Bombay. This indicates that questions for CEED 2024 will not be based on the previous curriculum.

The updated curriculum will assess the candidate’s openness, creativity, and inquisitiveness as well as their critical thinking skills, ability to understand and express, and scope of their worldview.  

It is unknown at this time if the exam format will also be changed by IIT Bombay. At the time of the release of the CEED application form 2023, the complete information regarding the test pattern will be made public.

For admission to Master of Design (MDes) and Ph.D. programmes, candidates must pass the CEED. The IITs in India that offer these programmes are IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IISc Bangalore. Additionally, as long as they match the age requirements, individuals from any field of study, including Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computer Applications (BCA or equivalent), are allowed to apply. The national level test gives qualified students a chance to get access into the realm of technology design.

How does the CEED test work?

For admission to M.Des and Ph.D. programmes provided by participating institutes, IIT Bombay conducts the Common Entrance Exam for Design, often known as CEED. The test is given once a year for academic credit. 

IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur all offer the M.Des programme. In the meanwhile, numerous IITs and design schools offer the Ph.D. programme.

According to their scores, candidates who receive a merit rank in CEED 2024 must submit individual applications to the participating institute.
