CEC Hosts Three-Day CommuniCraft Workshop to Enhance Communication Skills
Aligarh : The Club for Short Evening Courses (CSEC) of the Cultural Education Centre (CEC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a three-day workshop titled “CommuniCraft” from January 22 to 24. The workshop aimed at enhancing students’ skills in program management, presentation, and public speaking.
On day one, the event commenced with a session on “How to Conduct a Programme,” graced by Professor Mohd Wasim Ali, Proctor of AMU, as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the significance of training students in event management and suggested expanding similar workshops to AMU’s residential halls. Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui, President of CSEC and the chief resource person, provided a structured approach to program management, offering insights into crafting a comprehensive “Minute-to-Minute Programme.” He also discussed key anchoring elements such as posture, vocabulary, and adaptability. Prof. Mohammed Naved Khan, Coordinator of the Cultural Education Centre, lauded the initiative and its impact on student learning.
On the second day, Dr. Mohd Saeem Khan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Commerce, AMU, led the “Presentation Skills Bootcamp.” The session focused on audience analysis, voice modulation, and structured content delivery. Participants learned techniques to build confidence and engage audiences effectively. Dr. Khan’s expertise provided practical insights into delivering impactful presentations, culminating in an interactive Q&A session that reinforced key concepts.
On day three; in the final session, “Public Speaking Workshop,” was conducted by Prof. Mohd Mohibul Haque, Mentor of UDLC, CEC. He provided an in-depth understanding of public speaking essentials, including self-confidence, body language, and audience engagement. The workshop introduced rhetorical techniques, critical thinking, and argument structuring, equipping participants with refined oratory skills. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, the AMU Tarana, and the National Anthem, marking a dignified end to the series.
The success of CommuniCraft was made possible by the dedicated efforts of key individuals. Prof. Mohammed Naved Khan provided crucial support, while Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui’s vision led the initiative. Mr. Mohd Abdal, Secretary of CSEC, played a vital role in the organization, and Ms. Ufi Alam, a Senior Club Member, ensured seamless hosting of sessions.
CommuniCraft stands as a testament to collective effort and commitment, equipping students with essential communication skills that will benefit them in their academic and professional journeys.
