CBSE 2024: Board asks schools to submit list of candidates for classes 10 & 12 from August 14

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an outline of events for board exams in 2024, including direct admissions in Classes 10, 12, subject changes, the submission of Lists of Candidates (LOC), registration for Classes 9 and 11, and more.
The schedule states that beginning on August 14 students in classes 10 and 12 can submit their LOCs. On September 13, the LOC must be submitted before midnight to avoid late fines. From September 14 to September 22, the list submission with late fines will take place.
CBSE said, “This year, an amended schedule is being issued to be strictly followed by the schools so that other activities of the examinations – 2024 could be completed on time.”
Up to August 31 only, schools can offer direct admissions for grades 10 and 12. Schools must also gather information on students with special needs (CWSN) at this time and report it to the regional office for consideration of any concessions. Additionally, they must enter CWSN student information on the LOC portal. “No request will be entertained after 31st December, 2023,” the CBSE stated.
Those students participating in sports and olympiad activities will have to send their requests by December.
The schools will be required to request the Sports Authority of India or Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education for their recommendations. The board asked schools to send all the details by December 31.
The CBSE asked schools to take into account students’ attendance up until January 1, 2024, and to submit situations of attendance shortfall to the office by January 5.
Board permissions will be given to schools by January 31. Additionally, by January 31st, schools must submit petitions for children of members of the armed services and paramilitary forces who died in the line of duty.
