CAT 2023: Notification likely to be release by July 29; here’s what to anticipate for the exam

This weekend, most likely tomorrow, July 29, 2023, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow is anticipated to announce the CAT notification 2023. On July 31 of the previous year, the IIM Bangalore officially announced the CAT notification. The eligibility requirements, selection method, CAT exam registration information, paper pattern, etc. will all be briefly mentioned in the CAT exam 2023 release.
The overall number of places where the test will be administered as well as the registration costs for students falling under various categories will both be given in the CAT exam notification, along with other crucial information. The official CAT website’s URL will also be listed in the CAT announcement.
Currently, everyone in the nation has received a COVID-19 vaccination. IIM Lucknow is therefore likely to eliminate the requirement for vaccination status submission.
As the exam administrators did in the past, IIML is also anticipated to cut the number of CAT exam centres. IIM Lucknow administered the CAT exam in about 140 test cities in 2017.
The application cost for general, EWS, and NC-OBC applicants was raised from Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,300 in the previous notification. For candidates who are PwD, SC, or ST, the fee was raised from Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 1,150. CAT exam centres were also downsized from 156 to 150.
On August 4, 2023, online CAT registration is most likely to start. On the official CAT 2023 website, iimcat.ac.in, candidates can submit their applications before the second week of September 2023. Candidates may apply for the CAT 2023 if they have earned a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university with a minimum of 50% overall (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD).
More than 2 lakh applicants sign up for the Common Admission Test (CAT) each year. Every year, there has been a steady rise in the number of CAT registrations, a sign of rising demand for the test. 2,29,969 candidates enrolled for the CAT exam in 2021, while 2,27,835 candidates did so in 2020.
CAT notification date trend
In the latter week of July each year, IIM releases the CAT notification. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that it will happen again this year. The most recent CAT was held at IIM Lucknow in 2017, and that time the announcement was made public on July 29, a Saturday. If past years are any indication, the CAT 2023 announcement is anticipated for Saturday, July 29, 2023.
