BHU JRF 2025 Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Research Project

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the ICMR funded research project. This is suitable for postgraduates from Life Sciences, Biochemistry or any relevant subjects who are willing to take up challenging research work in the area of neurodegeneration.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Essential: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Neuroscience or related subjects.
  • Preference given to: Candidates with NET/GATE/ICMR JRF/CSIR JRF qualifications.

Required Skills:

  • Background in molecular biology and neurobiology techniques is a plus.
  • Research interest in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s is beneficial.

Fellowship/Stipend:

  • As per ICMR guidelines (for a qualified JRNET, stipends are normally ₹31,000/month + HRA).

About the Research Project:

This project focuses on the more pathological aspects of SARM1 in the context of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, particularly on mitochondria and cell death pathways.

This project offers excellent research opportunities for those interested in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, and Cellular Biochemistry.
