ALIGARH : Prof. M. J. Warsi, Chairperson, Department of Linguistics, Aligarh Muslim University and President of the Linguistic Society of India, delivered a keynote lecture during the satellite workshop of the 1st International Symposium on “Digital Humanities in the Anthropocene,“ organized by Amity Institute of English Studies and Research (AIESR), Amity University, Noida, in collaboration with the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
In his lecture on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of Regional Language Education and the Role of Translation,” Prof Warsi emphasized that we are living in an era of rapid technological evolution, where AI is transforming communication, learning and knowledge preservation. He said that the question pertaining to the fate of regional languages remains unanswered.
Speaking on the theme of the workshop “Digital Resources in Indian Languages”, he emphasized that digital divide requires affordable access to technology and the digital paradigm as the focal point of interest within the Anthropocene epoch revolves around fundamental concepts of control, commercialization and individual freedom.
