The deemed university, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will launch a diploma programme in Hindu studies. Tomorrow, the institution will host an online briefing with the theme “Exploring its Essence: Uncovering Traditions, History, Literature, and Philosophy.”

The Amrita School of Spiritual and Cultural Studies’ principal, Achyutmta Chaitanya, university assistant professor Sivanandan S, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham faculty associate Sooraj MS will all give remarks at the virtual briefing.

‘Mahabharata Upanayanam’, a six-week online certificate programme, and ‘Essence of Hinduism’, a four-week programme are also available through Amrita Darshanam. For the Mahabharata course, about 170 students have signed up so far, and 120 students have signed up for Essence of Hinduism. At least 30 to 40 of these students are foreigners.

A postgraduate programme, an MA in Philosophy, and PhD programmes in philosophy, spirituality, and interdisciplinary studies are also available through the International Centre for Spiritual Studies. The Ramayana Sopanam, Yoga Sethu, and Introduction to Vedic Scriptures courses will also be available at the centre.
Additionally, in February 2022, Amrita Darshanam will host Dharma Darshanam, a two-day advanced public workshop on the Mahabharata. The workshop will examine, reflect on, and comprehend Vysa’s Mahbhrat.
