BENGALURU : Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus successfully hosted the 11th edition of Aarohan, its Annual Science Fest, on January 17 and 18, 2025. The event brought together over 1,200 students from grades VIII to XII, offering a dynamic platform for innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning in science and technology.
Aarohan 11th Edition aimed to inspire young scientific minds through a variety of interactive activities, competitions, and workshops. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork, the event aligned with Amrita’s mission of holistic education and equipping students to address real-world challenges.
This year the event featured a diverse range of activities for junior (classes 8-10) and senior (classes 11-12) categories. Students showcased their skills in competitions such as Olympiad, Scratch Code Challenge, Brain Wave, Can You Escape, Puzzle Pursuit, Mind Over Machine, Ideathon and Space Escape, participated in workshops like the Drones, Internet of Things, Data Science Bootcamp and Indian Knowledge Systems, and engaged in fun events that blended learning with excitement. Over 200 awards were distributed, with the winning school earning the prestigious Overall Champion title. The fest also offered ₹1 lakh in cash prizes and included a project exhibition showcasing innovative student-led initiatives.
Speaking about the event, Dr. Prashanth B. N., Fest Convener, commented, “We are overwhelmed and delighted by the enthusiastic participation in Aarohan 11th Edition. This annual fest is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and learning. We aim to inspire them to explore new ideas and prepare for real-world challenges by engaging students in hands-on activities and fostering critical thinking.”
Aarohan 11th Edition demonstrated the impact of experiential learning, with students gaining practical insights into science and technology. Participants left with enhanced skills in problem-solving and teamwork, valuable for their future academic and career pursuits. Feedback from students and teachers highlighted the event’s success in making science accessible and engaging.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Manoj P., Director, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, who emphasized the importance of nurturing curiosity and innovation among young learners. Distinguished keynote speakers and faculty members interacted with participants, sharing valuable insights on emerging trends in science and education.
Encouraged by the success of Aarohan 11th Edition, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham plans to broaden the event’s scope in future editions. Upcoming initiatives will include expanded participation from schools across India and the introduction of workshops on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainability.
