Allahabad University: Teachers’ two-year probation period EXTENDED for all newly recruited teaching faculty;

All newly hired teaching faculty will now serve a longer probationary period, according to the University of Allahabad. In a recent move, the university’s administrative council agreed to extend the probationary period for newly hired faculty members from one year to two years.
As a result, all benefits, including the inclusion of prior services, fixing of pay, seniority, and other benefits, will only be given to faculty members starting from the date of joining once the extended two-year probationary period has been completed.
The official announcement from the University of Allahabad states: “The Executive Council unanimously resolved that the probation term for all newly hired faculty members be increased from one year to two years.
The U.G.C. regulations 2018 as amended from time to time further provided that all consequential benefits, including the addition of prior services, fixation of pay, seniority, and other benefits, would only be provided from the date of joining after completion of the two-year probationary period, and the ordinances were modified accordingly.
The choice seeks to guarantee a thorough evaluation and assessment of the abilities and performance of the newly hired faculty. The university will have plenty of opportunity to evaluate their teaching skills, research contributions, and general devotion to their particular responsibilities if the probation period is extended.
This modification will now be reflected in the amended ordinances, which are in line with the new probationary period policy. The decision has been put into practise right away to ensure the University of Allahabad’s efficient operation and expansion.
