1247 MOOCs Approved for the January 2024 Semester: UGC Announced on X

On October 31, 2023, UGC mentioned that the list of 1247 approved MOOCs is available in the SWYAM (swayam.gov.in) platform. UGC also mentioned that registrations are now open for UGC’s four Buddhist MOOCs for January 2024. These are available on the SWAYAM (swayam.gov.in) platform as well.
The list of January 2024 semester courses approved by the SWYAM board is mentioned below:
- CEC (PG + UG Non-Engineering).
- NPTEL (UG & PG Engineering).
- IGNOU (Certificate & Diploma Courses).
- IIM B (Management).
- UGC
- AICTE (Foreign Universities) + ARPIT.
- NITTTR (Teacher Training).

UGC further mentioned that 4 MOOCs on ‘Buddhist culture and tourism’ were offered in the January and June 2023 semesters. Due to its popularity among the learner and academic community as well, UGC has now opened the registration for the same for the January 2024 semester. The registration process is activated in the SWAYAM (swayam.gov.in/UGC) platform.
The examination dates for all 1247 MOOCs are listed on the 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th of May 2024. UGC further requested the Higher Educational Institutions to finalize these dates concerning their examination calendar.
Buddhist Culture and Tourism Courses
As the registrations for ‘Buddhist Culture and Tourism’ are now open, know about the basics of this course with us. It is a four-credit course within 15 weeks.
The course aims to elaborate on the outline of Buddhist Heritage sites in India. It would help students to get well-versed in the archaeological and historical remains of Buddhism in India. The course would also focus on the present context and spread awareness in society.
This program is available for both UG and PG students and students will also be allotted course-graded assignments. They also contain marks and would be graded.
