The B. Pharmacy degree requires eight semesters of study over four years and deals with the study of medicines. Pharmaceutical chemistry (chemistry of medicinal compounds), pharmaceutics (manufacturing of dosage forms such as tablets and capsules), pharmacology (action of drugs on the body and effect of the body on drugs), and pharmacognosy (medicinal drugs obtained from plants and other natural sources) are some of the core subjects in the program.
Electives such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Design Thinking, and Data Analytics are offered to students in addition to the core courses defined by PCI.
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) students study how drugs are prepared and dispensed. Those who want to become pharmacists today must take this course in order to have a thorough knowledge of the science of medicine.
The course is generally divided into six to eight semesters depending on the coursework and practical sessions. Students in the B.Pharma program gain a wealth of knowledge about biochemical science and health care. During coursework, students conduct many experiments and practicals.
In India, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is responsible for setting the standards and regulations for the B.Pharmacy program. Upon graduation, graduates are eligible to practice as pharmacists. As healthcare professionals who can prepare drugs to deal with a wide range of diseases and deficiencies are in great demand, the B.Pharmacy degree has a lot of possibilities, and is set to flourish more in the coming years.
