NEET :- National cum Entrance Test

The National cum Entrance Test or NEET, formerly the ALL India Pre-Medical Test, (AIPMT) for students who wish to pursue their MBBS, DENTAL(BDS) and AYUSH(BAMS, BUMS, BHMS) etc. courses in government and private institutions in India.

There are two types of NEET Examination :-

  • NEET UG (Undergraduate)
  • NEET PG (Postgraduate)

Difference Between NEET UG And NEET PG:-

NEET UG is the medical entrance examination for the admission in Undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, etc. whereas NEET PG is the entrance examination for admission in post graduate courses such as MD, MS, MDS, PG diplomas, etc in the colleges of India.

What is NEET Phase 1 And Phase 2?

For the year 2022, NTA divided the NEET registration process into two phases/ sets, under which the first phase of registration is to be completed before the exam and the second is to be completed before the release of the NEET-UG result. Synopsis - 

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), of the Government of India (GOI), established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organization for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standard tests to assess candidates' competency for admission to premier higher education institutions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [NEET (UG) - 2022] on Sunday, July 17, 2022 (Sunday) in Pen and Paper format in 13 languages, as a standard entrance test for admission to universities.

According to Section 14 of The National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019, and relevant Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER) 1997, as amended from time to time, MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental /AYUSH and other Colleges/Deemed Universities /Institutes (AIIMS & JIPMER) in India. The NEET (UG) 2022 will be administered in the following languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

MBBS/BDS falling under their jurisdiction. When candidates apply to their State, they will mention their category as per State Category List. State Counselling Authorities will accordingly make their Merit List. The same is the case with the domicile. The NTA has no role in it.

Eligibility criteria for NEET Phase 2:-
