WHAT IS CAT EXAM?

• Application Fees— Rs. 2200 for GenerThe Common Admission Test (CAT)  is a computer-based test for admission in graduate management programs. CAT EXAM consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The exam is taken online for over three hours, with one hour per section. 

CAT 2022 official notification will be released in the last week of July and the CAT 2022 Registration the process will begin in August 2022.  CAT or Common Admission Test conducted for admission in 20 IIMs and other participating institutes. Aspirants qualifying for CAT Cut Off will be offered admission in around 5000+ seats. Based on the previous year’s trends, aspirants with 90+ Percentiles can apply for the admission process of IIMs.

CAT 2022 EXAM PATTERN:-

CAT Exam Pattern was amended in 2021 by IIM Ahmedabad and these transformations are foreseen to continue for CAT 2022 Exam as well. So, according to CAT Exam Pattern 2022, the question paper will be divided into 3 sections having a total of 66 questions. 

• CAT 2022 will be conducted in online CBT mode at 438+ test centers located across 158+ major cities of India.
• CAT 2022 Exam is conducted only in the English medium. 
• CAT  2022 Exam Duration is of 120 minutes for completing the whole paper. Sectional Time Limit  is of 40 minutes for each of section.
• MCQs and TITA-type questions
• 3 sections- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Quantitative Aptitude (QA), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).

CAT 2022 MARKING SCHEME:-

• 3 marks are conferred for every right answer.

• 1 mark lessened for every wrong answer. 
• And no marks for unanswered questions.

CAT 2022 SYLLABUS:-

CAT 2022 Syllabus encompasses subjects from 3 subjects- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Quantitative Aptitude (QA), and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR).

• CAT VARC Syllabus includes topics like grammar, vocabulary, RC passages, and para jumbles.
• CAT DILR Syllabus comprises DI sets based on tables, graphs & charts, cases, and LR sets based on analytical & non-verbal reasoning.

CAT Quant Syllabus consists of class 10th and 12th standard topics of Mathematics like arithmetic, algebra, numbers, geometry, etc.

CAT 2022 CHANGES INTRODUCED:-

In Past years, several modifications had been launched in CAT EXAM. In 2021 examination also, the administering body had initiated modifications in eligibility, pattern, registration fees, etc. The important changes are mentioned below:- 

• Application Fees Revised – CAT application fee has been increased to INR 2200 from 2000 for GN and to INR 1100 from 1000 for SC/ST/PwD aspirants. 
• Reduction in Total Number of Questions – Based on the new exam pattern, there will be a total of 66 questions in the exam. 
• Reduction in Section & Overall Time Limit  – Since the total number of questions has been reduced the sectional time limit has also been reduced to 40 minutes for each section and the overall time limit has also been reduced to 2 hours. 

Changes in Eligibility Criteria – Due to COVID-19, a few changes had been introduced in CAT eligibility criteria which enables 2020, 2021 pass out aspirants to appear for the exam without fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria.

CAT 2022 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

CAT 2022 Eligibility is 50% marks in graduation for general aspirants and CA, CS, ICWA degrees are also eligible to take the exam. There is no limit to taking the CAT exam. Some of the important factors associated with the eligibility criteria are mentioned below:-

• Aspirants must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution or institute in any field.
• The aspirants must have an average score of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates) or equivalent in the respective exam.
• Aspirants who are occurring for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed their final examination and are awaiting results can also apply.

Applicants with a professional degree (CA, CS, or ICWA) are also eligible for CAT Exam.

CAT 2022 REGISTRATION PROCESS:-

CAT 2022 Registration Process can be done only in online mode. Aspirants can register themselves for CAT 2022 on the official website. Steps to Fill CAT 2022 Registration Form are given here:-

• Step 1: CAT 2022 Registration:

• Visit the official website for CAT 2022.
• To access the application form, log in again using your CAT 2022 user ID and password.
• A user ID and password will be sent to the candidate's registered email address and mobile number after verification.
• Enter your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, and country of origin.

• Step 2: Filling out the Application Form:
  • The candidates have to fill up their personal details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, category, mobile number, email Id, address.
  • The candidates have to select the IIMs of their preference and the course they want to take.
  • The candidate can choose up to six cities as an examination center.
• Step 3: Payment of Application Fee for CAT 2022:
  • After all the required personal details, the candidates have to pay for the application form by Debit/credit card/Internet Banking or any other money wallet.
  • Submit the online application form and download the application form for future reference. 

CAT 2022 REGISTRATION FEES:-

After completing the mandatory details, CAT 2022 Registration Fee should be paid via online mode through various modes: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or Online Wallets. Here mentioned is the CAT 2022 Registration Fee for several categories:-

CAT 2022 FILLING OF APPLICATION FORM:-

• Academic Details: Class 10th marks, class 12th marks, graduation and post-graduation scores, professional degree/ course details.
• Work Experience Details: Although not a mandatory field, you can enter full-time work experience details in this section.
• IIM Program Preference: Aspirants need to select the IIM institute, the program they wish to apply for, and the interview city.
• CAT Exam City Preference: Aspirants can select 6 CAT exam cities from the drop-down list based on their amenity of time and travel.

CAT 2022 DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED

• A Recent photograph in .jpg/ .jpeg format. File size should be less than or equal to 80kb.

• The Signature should be done only in black ink on white paper. The size of the image (.jpg/ .jpeg) should not be more than 80kb.
• Self-attested inspected copy of category certificate in PDF format. The maximum file size allowed is 200 kb.
• Download the PwD certificate from the official CAT 2022 website. Fill the details, self attest, and upload as a PDF file of 200 kb or less.

CAT 2022 FORM CORRECTION:-

CAT 2022 ADMIT CARD

CAT 2022 Admit Card will be published by the conducting IIM in the last week of October 2022. It will be accessible for download on the official website-iimcat.ac.in.

• CAT 2022 Admit card will include the exam center address, exam time, reporting time, google Maps link to locate the test center, and exam day instructions.
• Aspirants must carry a printout of the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam center on the day of the CAT 2022 Exam.  

Steps to Download CAT Admit Card 2022?

• Visit the official CAT website- iimcat.ac.in.
• Enter your CAT id and Password to login.
• Click on ‘Download CAT 2022 Admit Card’
• Your hall ticket will be displayed on the screen. Download and take a printout.
• Save the soft copy of your admit card for future reference

CAT 2022 RESULT:-

CAT 2022 Result will be disclosed in the form of a scorecard in the first week of January 2023.

• CAT Result 2022 will be acquitted only on the official website-iimcat.ac.in. Aspirants will have to login using their registration id and password to check the same.
• CAT Result 2022 will be valid for 1 year from the date of its release.
• The scorecard will be available for download till Dec 31, 2023.
• CAT  2022 Scorecard will mention the overall and sectional scores & percentile.

CAT 2022 CUTOFF

CAT Cut off is the minimum CAT percentile required to participate in the MBA admission process of IIMs, IITs, and other CAT score accepting colleges.

• Aspirants have to clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs to be eligible for admission.
• The qualifying CAT 2022 cut-off for admission to the 2023-25 batch will be released by the respective IIMs for shortlisting candidates for GD/ PI rounds.
