Students who have been admitted to undergraduate programs at Delhi University (DU) have two days to change their academic preferences. However, students who received their first choice of course and college would not be allowed to use this option.
After the university shows unfilled seats after the conclusion of the first round of seat allocation on Wednesday, candidates have the option of upgrading their seats. The deadline for paying the fees for the undergraduate programs at Delhi University was set for October 25.
According to a university quoted by the news agency PTI, “The vacant seat will be shown on Wednesday and after that, the candidates who have taken the admission in CSAS Round 1 can select for upgrade and re-ordering their higher preferences from Wednesday to Thursday.”
By selecting the “upgrade” option, the applicant agrees to be given consideration for admission to the program and college combination of their higher preference in the following round.”
If the new preference is given, the candidate’s current admitted seat will be automatically canceled “the representative added.
Only program combinations that were higher on the candidate’s list of preferences than the combination that was assigned to them qualify for the upgrade option. The candidate would not be given the option to enroll in the same programs and colleges to which they had previously applied.
The official stated,
“In no subsequent round will the candidate be offered the Programme College combination that was down the preference order at which the individual had previously taken admission.”
The candidate must accept the improved seat and finish the admissions procedure after being promoted. Candidates that want to keep their assigned seats may seek a freeze through their dashboard.
When explaining the procedure, the official stated, “On choosing ‘freeze,’ the candidate will not be permitted to choose ‘upgrade. A candidate’s admittance will be kept and they will not be given consideration for an upgrade if they choose neither to upgrade nor “freeze.”
