JEE Main 2023: Exam Postponement and Removal of 75% Eligibility Criteria Petition Filed
JEE Main 2023
Anubha Srivastava Sahai, an activist, has petitioned the Bombay High Court to delay the JEE Main 2023 exam schedule for the January session. Pre-board and practical exams for class 12 are scheduled for the next month. In the petition, the 75% requirement for JEE Main 2023 was also contested.
The first session of the JEE Main 2023 test will take place on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31. The petitioner asserts that the announcement was made by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which oversees the entrance exam, on extremely short notice and that the JEE Main session in January conflicts with exams given by the CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards. Additionally, less students will take the JEE Main exam in January 2023 as a result.
“The Pre-board and board examinations for the majority of State boards are slated to take place in January 2023. As a result, it will be challenging for pupils to take the Mains exam. As a result, the Mains exam scheduled for January 2023 will not be advantageous to them because they won’t take the test, according to the PIL.
Although a minimum score of 75% was not required, Sahai contested the change because it would have an adverse effect on student’s grades. According to the PIL, “The eligibility of 75% in Higher Secondary Class Board Examinations will hit lakhs of students who can score very high in the Mains examination but may not have 75% minimum marks in their board examinations.”
Candidates may now submit applications for the January session of JEE Main 2023 until January 12, 2023. On jeemain.nta.nic.in, applicants can register for the JEE Main 2023 exam.
