According to Tom Burt, corporate vice president of customer security and trust at Microsoft Corp., there is a need for academic institutions to offer courses on cyberthreats.

The Cybersecurity Venture report predicts that by 2025, there will be 3.5 million job opportunities worldwide for cybersecurity professionals. Additionally, experts stated that data protection is necessary for advanced research and development in any industry. The democratisation of cybersecurity expertise is necessary. Student awareness of opportunities in cybersecurity is still lacking.
