What is NMAT?
NMAT or NMAT by GMAC is a national level admission entrance test carried for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other reputed collegs in India as well as abroad. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies administered NMAT until GMAC took over the authorisation. NMAT 2021 is composed keeping the test-taker’s comfort in mind. Applicants can prefer the exam date and venue preference during the exam window by applying the NMAT scheduling option. NMAT shares some characteristics with GMAT as applicants are allowed to determine the preferred date during a testing window as well as according to self-schedule the test, venue and time, appointment date based on the availability of seats at the preferred test centre. The national level entrance exam, NMAT, is held once a year during the test window of specified days. NMAT by GMAC score is based on the result of candidates in three sections, namely,Quantitative Skills, Language Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

Latest Update
NMAT 2021 was commenced schedule on August 3. Applicants can register for NMAT through GMAC till 10th November. nevertheless, the exam which was commenced for session July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 is to end on November 17. Students can register their NMAT 2021 exam between October 14 to December 27. Every aspirant can take atleast three attempts for NMAT by GMAC. However, the first attempt must be scheduled on or before November 24. The second attempt of NMAT by GMAC can be scheduled between November 25 to December 10. The third attempt for NMAT can only be scheduled on or after December 11. Unlike previous session of 88-day test window, NMAT 2021 is to be conducted within a 74-day test window. In addition to a shorter test window, NMAT application fee has been revised. Candidates scheduling the exam during early registration window need to pay Rs 2,300, whereas candidates completing registration using the late registration window need to pay Rs 2,800

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2021
The exam directing authority has designated the below-mentioned eligibility criteria for NMAT 2021. Aspirants need to satisfy their qualification requirements before applying for the entrance test.
- Applicant must have completed graduation under 10+2+3 or four years of education pattern from any stream
- Secured atleast 50 per cent aggregate in the final year of graduation
- Applicants who are waiting for their results or are in their final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply for NMAT 2021. Admission entrance is granted on a provisional basis until the graduation mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying examination are submitted
- Applicants need to also review the eligibility criteria of NMAT participating colleges separately before enrolling for the examination. Applicants need to choose five institutes of their one preference admission while practising and those universities may have distinct eligibility guidelines for admission.
Key Changes in NMAT 2021
With the on going examination session, GMAC has made rare modifications from the previous session. Here are few major Changes on NMAT 2021.
- Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) released their exam details on August 3
- GMAC will have a 74-day window for NMAT 2021 from October 14 onwards to November 25
- NMAT by GMAC is to understand the exam pattern revised last year with 108 questions
- NMAT 2021 is being conducted in two modes, CBT from test centre and remote proctored exam from home. However, online proctor facility isn't available in India
- GMAC will be conducting NMAT 2021 in as many as 68 exam centres with 73 exam centres. Last year, there were 52 exam centres with 66 exam centres in the city
- An increase in the application fee has been recorded as compared to previous sessions. Candidates need to pay Rs 2,300 and Rs 2,800 to register below early and late enrollment window respectively.
